About Peter

Peter Tambroni is a bassist, educator, writer, and photographer in suburban Chicago. He received his Master of Music in Double Bass Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign and his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, N.Y.

He previously taught elementary, middle school, and high school strings in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Park Ridge, IL. He is a former faculty member of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and the Crane School of Music’s summer youth program.

Mr. Tambroni has performed with orchestras and as a recitalist in both New York State and Illinois. In the fall of 2000 he appeared on national television with the Bozo Super Sunday Show. Some of the ensembles he has performed with are the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Lakeshore Symphony Orchestra, Peoria Symphony, Polish - American Symphony, Oak Park Symphony, Northbrook Symphony, Opera Illinois in Peoria, the Champaign - Urbana Symphony & Prairie Ensemble of Champaign - Urbana, and The Orchestra of Northern New York in Potsdam, N.Y. He continues to perform around Chicago and its suburbs.

He has attended classes with Michael Hovnanian of the Chicago Symphony, John Chiego, Hal Robinson of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Scott Haigh of the Cleveland Symphony, Stewart Arfman, and Erik Harris. He has studied with Matthew Vacanti, Richard Stephan, Terrence Squires, Michael Cameron, Greg Sarchet, Tim Shaffer, Andy Anderson, and Miloslav Gajdos.

Peter has recorded for Mode Records of New York City. He has performed with such artists as Allen Vizzutti and Mark O'Connor.

Mr. Tambroni has been published several times in the international journal American String Teacher and on EnergyAddict.com, the website of best-selling author, Jon Gordon. His book, An Introduction to Double Bass Playing, is available at www.lulu.com/tambroni.

Peter was the Mannheim Middle School PTA Educator of the Year for 2005-2006.
